I ask myself that question – a lot. Am I lukewarm? What does that even mean?
John wrote of this in Revelations when Jesus is speaking of the seven Churches who have lost their way.
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
REVELEATIONS 3:15
So, then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold or hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
REVELATIONS 3:16
The chapter goes on to explain how the church has fallen away from God. Thinking they no longer needed Him in their life.
Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ – and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.
REVELATIONS 3:17
The churches have put on a show of religion but have no relationship with God. They live a life of pretense outwardly pretending to be religious, but inside hypocrisy and lawlessness rule. Are you living your life that way? Am I living my life that way?
Are you a people pleaser (or self-pleaser) or a God pleaser? Do you ask for God’s guidance in your day-to-day life?
Being lukewarm divides the heart. Jesus knows your heart. Having one foot in the flesh and one foot in the spirit creates that lukewarm place.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
ROMANS 12:2
If you have watched the show The Chosen, you will see they pray when they awake, when they eat, and when they go to bed. God is a daily part of their life. (and if you haven’t watched The Chosen, I highly recommend it).
No one is perfect. God knows that. He is looking to be part of your life daily, not just on Sundays.
And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:13-14
JEREMIAH 29:13-14
The scriptures are unlimited in how many verses speak to us to love God with everything we have.
