There’s a verse that’s been rumbling around in my head for a few days:

“Search me. O God and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts”

Psalms 139:23

Be careful with this one. As they say, you might get what you ask for. And you better be ready to hear God’s answer as God only speaks truth absolute. It may not be the same truth that we as flesh believe. Especially about ourselves.

It’s a little odd that I have one of the Psalms rattling around.  As a newly saved Christian, I couldn’t read Psalms. Any of them. Only after I fully committed to the message of repentance and turning to God was I even able to read Psalms. 

So why this verse now? Well, besides the fact that you can’t hide from God, you’re gonna have that conversation eventually:

“And this is the message I proclaim – that the day is coming when God through Jesus Christ will judge everyone’s secret life.”

Romans 2:16

That day is coming for all of us. So, no better time than right now to be convicted by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Speaking of “Right Now”…

“Don’t wanna wait till tomorrow,

Why put it off another day?”

….

“Right now, hey

It’s your tomorrow

Right now,

C’mon, it’s everything”

….

“Tell me what what you are waiting for

Turn this thing around”

I’ve written before about how God reaches out to me through music. Even music nobody would call spiritual. And you’d be really surprised how far I push that envelope. But whenever I listen to “Right Now”, all I can think of is how important it is to ask God to search your heart, repent for your sins and turn to God.
